Is there a way to look at the fish data that is being submitted by anglers on the different beats? I would like to be able to see that data to help me become a better angler. To learn what fish are biting on and what times of year. Thank you.

Thank you for your email. There is a catch returns page on the website under Guidance where anglers can submit their catch returns and look at the latest returns which can be viewed at – http://westcountryangling.com/catch-returns/. We try and keep these as up to date as possible so please keep an eye on these. The catch returns can provide valuable information but the level of information available depends on how much information is provided by the angler. We also submit a report to Trout and Salmon each month although this is often a little out of date by the time it goes to press. One other way of getting information may be your local tackle shop? Depending on where you are and which beats you are interested in, it can often be worth asking at your local tackle supplier. One last idea, there is a Devon Rivers Forum that would be worth checking out – http://devonrivers.proboards.com/. Hope this is of some help but let us know if you need anything else or find a better source of information.

Thank you for your email and sorry about the inconvenience with this. It would be good if a buy and print system were available and we have looked at this but it is quite tricky to operate. The main issue is the robustness of paper, the tokens need to be able to stay in reasonable condition for several weeks out in the boxes at times. If it is wet and snails are about they need to be on a tough paper to make sure they last. In addition, there are some concerns about counterfeiting. Having said this we will look again at this and see if anything can be done in the future.
