We thought it would be useful to start an FAQ page to help anglers new to the Passport get going. Please email in any queries you have ([email protected]) and we will post up an answer as soon as we get chance. Hopefully this will be particularly useful for the 2015 season as there are quite a few changes to the scheme this year.
I live in Bickleigh, South West Devon. Can you advise where is best for river brown/rainbow trout fishing that is relatively close.
Thought I'd drop you a line to let you know that I had 3 great sessions thanks to The West Country Passport scheme during our holiday over the last few weeks. I managed a total of 47 brownies from two sessions on the Lane Barton beat of the River Torridge and 11 at Gortleigh! Several of the fish were around 3/4 lb and they averaged about 1/2 lb each. Fantastic wild trout fishing by any standards. The fly hatches were prolific with plenty of Mayflies in the afternoons. The Lane Barton Beat is a real gem for dense hatches and rising fish! Many thanks for an excellent passport scheme and for making waters like the above available to those of us who would not otherwise have any opportunity to fish them!
We just decided at the last minute to visit cornwall next weekend. We are interested in river fishing and would like to fish.
Last year I fished the Lyd at Sydenham, but this beat no longer appears in the Passport guide. What has happened to all of the non-Token beats that used to be bookable?
I have a book of permits and was thinking of fishing the west dart, can I use my prepaid permits there? or do I have to pay seperately.
I'm in Cornwall in a month and would like to try Beat 34. I understand we have to buy tokens and how to do this online but do we just turn up after that or do we book the beat?
