Beat 20: Netherbridge Court
Beat 20: Netherbridge Court – River Tamar
SX 34443 88317 – SX 34783 87156 1.5 km mixed single and double bank
This beat offers classic middle Tamar fishing near Launceston and is open in nature, set in a wide floodplain. It consists of 8 pools, numerous long glides and wide riffles suited to fly fishing for brown trout and grayling and often has excellent hatches of mayfly. The beat can also offer salmon and sea trout from late May, although this is dependent on consistent good levels of water. It produced good bags of brown trout in 2016 and nearly 40 grayling.
Directions & Access:
From Launceston, take the A388 signed Holsworthy. Cross over the River Tamar at Netherbridge and after 400m pull into the second driveway on the left signed Netherbridge Court.
