2015 – Start of a New Season

Welcome – thank you for visiting our new site, we hope anglers old and new to the scheme will like the way it looks and works and will enjoy using the scheme in 2015.

If you have fished on the Westcountry Angling Passport before you will know how things work and will have probably realised that things have changed a bit from last season.  The two main changes are that there is no hard copy brochure this year (although the Dartmoor Fishery Guide is still available) and the Booking Office has been closed with most of these beats now available via the roving token system.  There are few less beats available overall than in 2014.

We hope that you find the website really easy to use.  Beat details can be downloaded for all of the beats, once downloaded these can be stored on your phone or tablet, or printed out.  You may also wish to retain your 2014 brochure as much of this is still relevant, just be sure to double check this information against that online for the most current details.

Everything else remains the same.  Tokens are £2.50/ea. and are available on line from this site and the usual agents ( as well as couple of new ones, The Fisherman in Tavistock pannier market and Cullompton Coarse & Carp.  Tokens can also be used as payment or part payment on any of the South West Lakes Trust fisheries (including their coarse fisheries) and also to purchase Dartmoor Fishery tickets.  Dartmoor Tickets are available from the usual agents on and around the Moor.

Some other good news.  The new road bridge has been completed on the Champerhaies beat (River Culm, beat 3) allowing this beat, known for producing larger than average brown trout as well as coarse species, to be available again.  A second access point is also now available at Treburtle on the Ottery (beat 23) making it far easier to get at this beat, it’s a brushy stream but has a very good head of brown trout.

Let’s hope we get some good weather for angling and we really hope you enjoy your fishing in 2015.
