Beat 3: Champerhaies – River Culm
ST 015046 – ST 008033 1900m double bank, accessed from left hand bank.
This is a nice section of open river reminiscent of the Windrush. It provides good brown trout fishing during the spring and summer and usually produces fish to over 1lb. There is also a lovely mix of coarse fish present with chub, dace, roach, perch and pike with all year round sport if you can locate them.. The river is relatively easy to fish with a lovely pool – riffle – glide sequence. It produced 39 brown trout to 13” and some surprises for the adventurous coarse angler.. The beat is known for its above average sized brown trout and coarse fishing
