Beat 22: Ham Mill

Beat 22: Ham Mill – River Ottery

SX 341866 – SX 345874     1,700m mixed double & single bank – 1,000m of the Ottery & 700m of the Tamar

Located not far from Netherbridge, a number of anglers have realised that this beat is a cracker. It offers lovely trout fishing, especially during the Mayfly season. The Ottery above the bridge offers the chance of a sea trout with the first peal likely to arrive in late June; they have been caught on dry fly and nymph by day. It is one of three beats available on the Ottery but it also provides a nice section on the main river itself. Knocking on for 120 brown trout up to 13’’ and the same numbers of grayling, Ham Mill had another great 2017 season.
