Beat 28: Hayne Bridge
River Thrushel – River Tamar
Beat 28: Hayne Bridge – River Thrushel
SX 410862 – SX416866 Approximately 800m of right hand single bank
Excellent brown trout fishing with a mixture of sweeping bends, large pools and faster, more challenging runs. The adjoining Milford beat is no longer available but we think we have retained the best section? Hayne Bridge is brushy in places offering good cover for fish but generally more open in character than Milford. It is mentioned in Mike Weaver’s book ‘The Pursuit of Wild Trout’ where the author landed 82 trout in five hours. The beat is best fished with 2-5wt, 7-8ft rods and waders are advised. It is an under fished beat with loads of potential; please give it a try.
Directions & Access:
Turn left out of the Arundell Arms Hotel car park. After 1.7 miles turn left at crossroads (signed A30). After one mile turn left into Dingles Heritage Fairground. Follow signs to main car park and park there. Walk through wooden five-bar gate (marked ‘Private’) and straight down path, across drive and through double metal gates. Go straight down the hill, through gate by large oak. This is the downstream end of the beat.
Info & Restrictions:
