A lovely section of the River Camel with 6 named, easily accessible pools providing excellent salmon and sea trout fishing. The beat also offers good dry and nymph fly fishing for brown trout. The Camel basin received an emergency byelaw in October of 2017, please read the restrictions carefully before fishing.

Directions & Access:

From Launceston take the A30 west. Take the junction after the Temple turning, signposted to St Breward. follow the sliproad round and over the A30, at the T junction turn right. On descending a slight hill turn right to Blisland at a grey house called “Fourwinds” Follow the road for just under a mile and proceed straight over the staggered cross road signed St Mabyn and follow the road into the valley for 1.3 miles. Turn left at the sign post for St Mabyn and Wadebridge and cross over Tresarret Bridge and park on the right near the gate taking care not to obstruct it. The box can be found on the inside of this gate which also accesses the northern section of the beat, while the gate across the road accesses the southern section.


Info & Restrictions:

Before 16 June fly and spinner only. After 16 June fly, spinner and worm. All trout under 7” must be returned, no more than 2 trout, 2 sea trout or 1 salmon to be retained per day. Accommodation and late season salmon fishing is available at Tresarret Manor by prior booking (Tel: 01208 850338).
